International Board of Medicine and Surgery has the mission of enabling the public to make informed decisions by establishing standards and qualifications for patients' safety and professional integrity.

International Board of Medicine and Surgery (IBMS) is an independent third party verifying testing, analysis, and evaluation of knowledge, skills and abilities against specified requirements of relevant standards for the purpose of certification and re-certification in the field of global healthcare with the goal of ensuring conformity with a given norm.

IBMS certifies healthcare providers, including Centers of Healthcare Excellence (Hospitals, Clinics, Specialty Centers) Physicians, Surgeons, Dentists, and Other Medical Professionals in the global healthcare community.

IBMS Certification demonstrates a mark of quality for a healthcare facility/professional providing medical services in the global healthcare community using globally accepted competencies with the goal of reducing harm and increasing the likelihood of desired health outcomes by using current professional knowledge and applying internationally accepted dimensions of healthcare quality: safety (avoidance of harm), effectiveness based on services providing a clear benefit, patient-centered partnership with healthcare practitioners, timely intervention, cost efficiency, and equitable application to assure the healthcare facility and/or the provider is focused on patient safety and professional integrity.

International Board of Medicine and Surgery Certification Mark, as used or intended to be used by organizations/persons authorized by the International Board of Medicine and Surgery, certifies that the organization/person providing medical services has met the standards and qualifications established by the International Board of Medicine and Surgery.

IBMS Certification of Center's of Healthcare Excellence helps patients, payers, and medical travel companies make decisions about comparative hospital quality of care and safety.

IBMS Certification Process consists of a detailed application questionnaire and virtual online or on-site evaluations
